What’s Wrong With “Hustling Harder”?

While this term means you have to work hard in order to be successful, it slowly transformed into entrepreneurs thinking that the only way for them to be successful is to put in more hours. Today, I want to talk to you  about why there’s a big flaw in hustling harder.

The Flaw In “Hustling Harder”

You see a lot of small business owners think that if they could “just make this much…” if they could “just do this one thing…” or if they could “just get one more client”, then that would be the end to all of their business owner struggles. When in reality, every new phase that we reach within our business growth comes with a new set of stressors and a new set of problems for us to handle.

By working until your eyes bleed or never taking one day off, you’re putting yourself into this kind of never-ending cycle of feeling that you’re not good enough. In reality, every single step of your journey is something to be celebrated. You should be congratulating yourself with every milestone and every single little goal that you reach along the way.

When you let yourself feel good and feel proud about what you’ve accomplished so far, you grow quicker because we find that when we feel good, when we’re confident in ourselves and in our work, we express that through our content. When our audience sees that we’re confident and we feel like work doing well as business owners, they’re much more likely to want to work with us.

By celebrating yourself by being proud of yourself, you’re much more likely to get those clients coming in the door and continue your growth. Remember that burnout is a real thing. There are a lot of entrepreneurs that have a lot of different stories about how they got so burnt out that they wound up in the hospital and they let their health go to the wayside.

When you are working in your business, make sure that above all else, you’re putting yourself first. To be clear, in no way am I saying that you don’t have to work hard in order to reach the results that you want to reach. Working very hard is a prerequisite for being a successful entrepreneur but rather than focusing on working harder and longer, you should be focusing on working smarter.

By doing this, you can spend your time appropriately on that one thing, get really good at it and become an expert.

We’re not all great at every single little thing in our business. Sometimes, there are areas where we can do the work, but we just don’t really have the time. When you find those things, hire out and get the help that you need.

Email marketing, social media posting and the like can all be automated. That way, it saves you so much time and you don’t have to constantly be worrying about it.

Make a clear strategy with clear goals that you’re following. That way, you know exactly what you need to be doing in order to reach these goals. Every single time you reach a goal in your journey, again, you can celebrate it.

Give yourself a break. Don’t constantly compare yourself to others. It is not a race. You are in this for you because you know that you can be successful. When you’re doing this, when you’re going through the day-to-day constantly remind yourself that whatever you’re doing, just the fact that you are a business owner and you’ve decided to take this risk and take on this chance in your life already makes you amazing. Remember even if you don’t see it and you don’t see how great you are, the people around you do and I do as well.
